$6 an hour job - Pulling Teats at the Dairy Farm : The Stinky Life

Milking cows was my FAVORITE JOB.

I told my boss at Subway I had to put in my 2 weeks because I was off to the farm! And for less money...maybe this was the stupidity of my youth, at about 18 years old.

Minimum wage at Subway at this time was $8.25 and then I decided to go drive an extra 15 minutes one way and get paid $7.25 PRE-TAX. I legit was bringing home like $6 basically by the end of it... but I did it for the experience, not the money!

Mornings & afternoon milkings was my life for about 6 months while in school until my dad MADE me quit because I smelt like shit all the time. Literal cow shit. What a damn good job though for the resume? I think yes! 

Funny story... I milked with a girl 2-3 years younger than me.. I still remember one morning I got up, to head to the farm and she text me she was still awake, and drunk from a party the night before so I had to go pick her ass up from this party at 5am, then we headed to the farm to milk. Oh, and the time I didnt turn the pipe on the tank before the wash cycle, and I ruined all the milk... or when the cows all got out and we had to chase them down the farm road. See? Heck of a good time.
